How to Use the Crop Tool in Photoshop to Remove an Unwanted Region of a Photograph

We want to eventually take this photograph and split it into twelve equally-sized frames:

But first, we should remove the text at the bottom. For that, we'll use the Crop tool in Photoshop.

1) Select the Crop tool from the tool palette:

2) Draw a rectangular selection around the region you want to keep:
The area to be cropped is greyed-out.

3) Press "ENTER" to complete the crop. Or, press "ESC" to void the crop:
